Bible Character Cornelius Search. 12/18/12

Bible Character Cornelius Search

Hebrew 11:13-15; 12:1-3

As we continue our character studies.. The Bible describes those who went before us as a great cloud of witnesses. The book of Hebrew only names a few, but we only actually have 8 weeks of research ahead of us. We will find that everyone that walked by faith did not make it in the final roll call list, just as all of us may not make it. We serve a God that is the same today, yesterday and forever more! Because of that, we should learn from their strength/weakness, serving, worshiping, and walking for God the same today, yesterday and forever more!

Cornelius

1.  How was Cornelius different from those that lived in his community?  Was there a mention on how he conducted his family life?  What was his relationship with God?  Define how he feared The Lord.

2.  During the bible days there was no phones, no email, or no mail systems; so explain how Cornelius was able to make contact for help.  Give details on who answered the call for help and how effective was the person that answered the call?

3.  Did Cornelius hold any leadership positions?  How did his life bring glory to God and how did he edify others?

4.  What were his strengths and accomplishments/weaknesses and mistakes?

5. What life lessons do we get from his live?  Read Revelation 15:4, how does this scripture speak to you and your relationship with The Lord.  Do you fear God?
