Bible Character James Search

Hebrew 11:13-15; 12:1-3

As we continue our character studies.. The Bible describes those who went before us as a great cloud of witnesses. The book of Hebrew only names a few, but we only actually have 2 weeks of research ahead of us. We will find that everyone that walked by faith did not make it in the final roll call list, just as all of us may not make it. We serve a God that is the same today, yesterday and forever more! Because of that, we should learn from their strength/weakness, serving, worshiping, and walking for God the same today, yesterday and forever more!

James

1.  Who is James and what relationship did he have with Jesus?  Were there any relatives mentioned in the New Testament for James.  What was his occupation?  Provide scripture.




2.  What was James' key role that he provided for the early church?






3.  Is this James, the same as the one who wrote the book of James?  Give details of your findings.  What was the purpose of the book of James?  Can the book of James minister to your life, right now?  How?





4. Within the Gospel books, there were mention of at least 2 outbursts from James.  The outbursts indicates that he had struggles with his temper.  Please provide the scriptures that gives the details.  What does the Bible say about fits of rage?  Is this one of your problems, be honest!
